Hi there- I am hoping to get some feedback from the members of this community...

Since it was created I have for the most part let it unfold and be what it is-

But I want to make sure that is the right thing.

I see ads in the topics.. and sometimes I have seen comments that almost seem predatory-

Would people like to see the topics here more monitored and if so in what manner?

as well we have some of the most wonderful art in our photos section- I have gotten messages a couple times having members asking me to remove certain imagery-

I could also post topics for discussion more regularly (weekly or what have you...)

I am and have been content with things the way they are..

The images haven't ever bothered me- really quite the opposite I appreciate most of them profoundly-
There has been a couple comments here and there that seemed to way off of celebratory posting of personal art or photos...

I am hoping the tribe is a venue to celebrate and honor the sacredness of one's self-

Having Babies Young?

I will be twenty-one this year. Ever since I was little I always wanted to have children, and worked as a nanny ever since....I have started everything young, from getting all my partying out at 13 as a dj, going to burning man for years with my dad, yada yada, travelling across the entire globe....i even married young, naturally....and I am finishing UCSC with two degrees in June e year early!
I receive so much negative attitudes toward wanting a child at my age, yet i feel it is right. I will definitely start saving $$$ to be more financially secure, but other than that why is it so "bad" to have a kid at my age? i understand the responsibility behind taking care of children and the supposed "loss" of freedom...but i have been free for so long that i feel ready to settle down. My dreams aren't going to die if i have a kid and i am not going to stop working toward my goals...does anyone else feel this way or believe it is justified? my partner supports me in having a child now or 10 yrs from now, so that's not an issue.

I need to find my inner goddess. My life depends on it.

I have suffered lack of self confidence/poor body image for as long as I can remember. I despise other women, and my relationships with men almost always end because they cannot handle my depression, and lack of self esteem.
When I attend festivals, I hide in the tent, longing to go play with everyone else, even at Burning Man, I hardly left our dome during the day.
Men walk all over me. I was abused both physically and mentally in my last relationship, and fear the worst my current one. I cannot stand to have my partners look at other women, masturbate, anything. And I want to believe when men hit on me, or say I am beautiful, but I just cant bring myself to do so.
I long for female connections, but have been judged so damn harshly by women in the past, that I am scared shitless. I suffered from REALLY REALLY REALLY bad bacne, chest acne, and facial acne for seven years. I am nineteen. Throughout highschool, I befriended only guys, and slept around a lot, in a desperate attempt to make myself feel better. And all I got was dumped for girls with confidence, that dressed cute, (I hide it all, I dread summer every year, winter means turtlenecks, I get so self conscious about my acne scars and remainding acne, that I hyperventilate, and lash out at people), these girls wear swimsuits, these girls have girlfriends, these girls got guys.
I feel very ashamed to say that media got the best of me. I see girls on billboards, who look like girls I know, who look like girls on the street, who dont look like me.
About a year ago I had my second miscarriage. The first was at 8 weeks, the second at 14 weeks. Nothing strips you of feeling good about yourself when your 18 and lost two babies. (granted both were whoopsies, I rolled with the punches and was ready to grow up and raise a child). My ex left me not even a week after the D&C. I was hospitalized, went through labor, dilated, and had the D&C and was sent home alone. I feel like so much less of a women for not being able to even carry a child. And now I get the sick privilege of carrying with me the stretch marks of pregnancy, with nothing to show for it.
I dont use drugs or alcohol anymore since then either. And it has made everything even more difficult to come to terms with. I cannot drink away my low self esteem any longer.
I need to fix this problem in my life, for myself, for my relationship with the man I love, for everyone. Im tired of holding back, and not doing what a I want to do, what I need to do. Im tired of looking in the mirror and crying.

Any suggestions on how to gain some confidence would be desperately needed.

I know this sounds like science fiction or a conspiracy theory, but it's not. It is a complete reality and a huge danger to humanity. Please check out the following petition and sign it. As crazy as this may sound but mind control energy weapons is a reality. Millions of people are suffering from the mental abuse and torture of these weapons that are not openely talked about or known, or "declassified." The abuse is largely sexist and racist and targets people who are of certain ethnicities... primarily who are not white. Orphan Works Bill: Gov. Geared To Exploit Artists!

Imagine a world where the things you made belonged not to you, but to someone else - unless you paid for the right to own them first. Under the Orphan Works Bill, anyone who produces a creative work would have to pay exorbitant sums of money for the simple act of creating art and for the continued ownership of their art through unending copyright registry fees.

This is what the Orphan Works Bill proposes: the bill proposes that as soon as any work of art is created, it would be required to be registered for a moderately high fee with ALL of SEVERAL copyright houses and entered into a giant database. Anyone who does not do this would risk any creation being taken and sold by someone else, and that would be legal because ALL UNREGISTERED WORK would be considered ORPHANED. This includes such simple things as family photos - if posted on the Internet and not registered with a copyright database, your photo album could be used in a series of ads by a major corporation for their latest campaign - and: 1) there would be nothing you could legally do to stop it, because 2) they could legally own your art just by registering it first, and 3) they wouldn't give you a dime. The only way you would regain control of your art is if the previous owner of the copyright allows it to lapse, thereby providing you the opportunity to purchase it.

The OWB extends to all the arts: illustration, photography, computer, mixed media, jewelry, ceramics, acting, performance art, singing, song writing, sculpting, costuming, etc., ad nauseam. It requires the constant registering of any artwork, over and over, ad nauseam; otherwise, your work *could* be used and sold by the government - which will own and run the giant registration companies and databases - for profit. And there is nothing you *would* be able to do about it - ever.

This adds up to a lot of money very quickly - for those who make art and register it, and for those who stand to profit from unregistered art. And not only that, but remember that the copyrights must constantly be renewed as proposed by this bill. Dare I say it? The Orphan Works Bill seeks to totally disempower any creative process in the entire United States of America.

Is it wise to concentrate our nations’ copyright wealth in the hands of a few corporate databases? With the meltdown on Wall Street, this might be a good time to ask Congress that question.

The Orphan Works bill would pressure copyright holders to subsidize the start ups of giant commercial databases. The contents of these databases would be more valuable than secure banking information. Yet who can watch the ongoing failure of investment banks that were “too big to fail’ without asking why government should want to create these privately owned image banks on the backs of small business owners who neither want nor need them. Here are some of the questions we’ve raised before about this bad legislative scheme:

• Who’s to be trusted with these databases?
• Who’s to manage them and in whose best interests?
• What happens when a database is hacked?
• What happens when one fails?
• What happens when one is acquired?
• What happens when the terms of service are changed?
• What happens when registration fees become prohibitive?
• What happens when maintenance fees are piled on?
• What happens when exorbitant commissions are imposed?
• What happens to artists who can’t afford to register?
• What happens when registered artists can’t afford to maintain their registrations?

• What happens to your business when your clients start calling the databases, not you, to clear rights to your work?
• Why should small business owners be forced to entrust their business information to outside business interests?

Take it one step further and write to Congress using their handy link to do just that! The more people that know about and speak out against this Bill, the more Congress and your representatives will hear the people's voice and be moved to act in our interest. Our interest is presumably what got them into office, so presumably it is what keeps them there as well. Let them know what you think of the Orphan Works Bill!

If you have never written to Congress, it is easy! Short, one-page letters are highly recommended. To put the notion of the Orphan Works Bill into a perspective that has immediate relevance to lots of people on tribe, I'll ask you this: What would Etsy buyers - and more especially sellers - do if this bill was to pass?

Most artists can just afford supplies and a little self-promotion time - let alone registering EVERY SINGLE ITEM of their creation with SEVERAL copyright institutions.

Durga Navratri is almost here! This is the time during which millions of people all over the world are actively invoking the Goddess-Energy through prayer, chanting, ritual, fasting, rejoicing and meditation. This happens in celebration of the manifestation of the Divine Shakti of all of the Gods as Ma Durga who overcomes the forces of ignorance, cruelty and oppression. Her influence is needed especially during this critical time challenge and change on Earth.
This year, Durga Navratri occurrs from September 30th through October 8th. This is an invitation to join together in whatever form of invocation of the Divine Mother feels appropriate for you. One each of these nine days and nights, call out to the Living Force that animates all things, and offer prayers for all of Her children, all sentient beings. realize that we are each a potential link, a vessel through which Durga-Ma can act in order to bless the world.

in need of a ceremony facilitator...

My daughter's 3rd birthday is coming August 5th and i am looking for someone to help facilitate a ritual or ceremony for the two of us. This is something I could do alone but I want to be in ceremony with her not facilitating. I have not had any special "rite" for her besides giving birth itself. I am in need of rededication to my daughter and to myself as a mother. Perhaps there is a woman in the New England area that can help me. If not then I will know that this is a ceremony I must do on my own. Help would be nice right now though as I am close to burnout with my mothercup.

I also ask you to look beyond the languaging of this and between the lines, for this is more than just about Sex "addicts" or Christianity.
It's really more about how *any* religion or philosophy has been used to control or manipulate others and separate them from their sacred energy, intelligence and Earth Wisdom. It is also an appeal for the healing of the fragmented Self, a return to wholeness which is intimately connected with Nature, and a tribute to the Goddess.

I normally don't even write like what you're about to read. I was channeling the unspoken multitude of souls who have suffered from the alienation you're about to read and possibly relate to, the Rage & Pain of The Goddess, and George Carlin.

I've read the Bible and I don't recall Jesus ever saying "don't have sex". The closest sentiment I can recall Jesus (being quoted) as saying was, "Love Thy Neighbor As Thyself". That's pretty darn general and I wonder why God changed "His" tune after Soddom and Gomorrah? Or, is the Torah still in effect and that's the *true* story of why Christ got the Cross?

Does "addiction" count only if it's ruining your life? What if I think my life is totally awesome because of all the sex I have?

Is there a list of sorts someone here would like to provide that details all the parameters of "sex addiction"?

But if we're going to talk about Jesus and such, then let's get into whose "authorized account" we're *really* working with here. Last I checked, Jesus didn't actually *write* the Bible. For all any of us can know, the dude's been spinning in his grave these past 2000+ years because of all the mis-interpretations and poetic license his so-called followers could've taken as people *always have*. I mean, for chrissakes, look at what the official story is for 9/11! Do you think people were really so much more enlightened back in the *Iron Age*?

Who's to say that our lives haven't become hellish simply because we're taught to buy into so many beliefs that are totally contrary to the way the "True God" would want us to live: Free to enjoy the way we were made and meant to be!

Doesn't it strike *anyone* as conspicuous that we're the *only* species on the planet with religion and *we're* the ones taking it and everyone with us to Hell in a handbasket?

Hey, guess why we haven't found a Bible for any other species? BECAUSE THEY DON'T NEED ONE!

Do you ever see any other animals besides humans "living in sin"? Oh wait, that's right -they DON'T KNOW BETTER, right?

We say those dumb animals have no "free will", but there seems to be *plenty* of selective breeding and cooperation among all but ONE species. Have you ever seen an "ugly" animal? I'm not talking about what's beautiful compared to us, I'm talking about when you look at two individuals from the same species. Do you ever look at one German Shepherd and another and say, "Wow, that other is one ugly sonbitch!"

Maybe it would be more correct to say that Humans don't have free will, because look at how many people get ADDICTED to sex, drugs and drama! Remember how addiction is essentially defined as NOT HAVING CHOICE? I mean, it's pretty fucking pathetic if humans have this so-called "free will" because look at the CHOICES we've made!

Seriously, how do you think all the stupid and ugly people are managing to make it into each new generation? There's a moment when you're looking at that joint, that line of coke, that downhill descent, or that BUTT-UGLY loser at the other side of the bar, and there's a moment sanity's saying, "Fuck *that*!" But SOMEHOW, people end up listening to that other voice that says, "Fuck it, I just don't care because I'm too horny and lonely."

Oh, that's right, THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT!

As the story goes, the Woman blamed it on the Serpent and Man blamed it on the Woman like an unaccountable asshole rather than confronting the Woman and saying, "Hey, let's take this up with God before we go with what the Serpent said. He could've refused, stood his ground like a grown man, but instead of copping to what a weak-minded dickhead he was, he BLAMED IT ON THE WOMAN!

Damn, and women *still* ended up being the one having to deal with the "joys" of motherhood! Okay, so is *that* why we refer to God in the masculine? I mean, there's NO WAY God would have let man get away with that if God was a Woman!

Anyway, back to "Free Will"...

For those of you who think animals "live in sin" because they don't know better or don't have free will, and you're STILL not convinced Man isn't out of his tree on this topic after what I've just written, then consider this:

If animals don't know better, then how is it they've managed NOT to fuck up the planet after all these tens of thousands of years (if you're a Fundamentalist) or billions of years (if you can tell by the plain, in your face, provable science of Natural History that Evolution *is* real) while we've managed to do more damage in the LAST CENTURY than all of prior *human* history? I mean the last most devastating thing that happened to this planet were the natural, unavoidable phenom of asteroid impacts and tectonic plates getting their groove on!

Now don't even *THINK* about blaming it on the Serpent now, Mr. Man! Your whole Point the Finger Game didn't fly back in Genesis. What, do you think The Almighty has ADD or that you somehow got *smarter* than the Maker since then?

Here's another clue for you Bible Thumpers:

Why would God *need* to have a Bible for us and NO other creature? I mean, if you believe the Bible was "inspired" by God, then you would HAVE to admit as well that God *intentionally* made us to be such screw-ups that we would need a "How To" book for living.

Who invented the word "Duh"? Man did. Oh, do you think *that* was inspired by someone sophisticated enough to invent our neo-cortex? Do you think it was invented by someone who conceived the plenum of our Universe? Do you think someone who could clap their hands and **BOOM!** Big Bang would trifle with something as pathetic and ridiculous as "duh"?

The Bible says "In the Beginning was the Word". ...Well gosh people, I'm not sure what that word was, but I'll bet you it wasn't in ENGLISH; and wow, things sure have gone to shit since it was uttered anyway, hasn't it? failure

I am thinking alot.
Triggered by a couple of conversations I have had of late.
About failure.

Failure.
Truly the 'f' word -
and it occurs to me, that i have created, for myself and my children, a world without failure; a world where failure is not an option, a world where the word 'failure' just does not exist.

Its an awful word, and i know that i visibly flinch when someone directs it at me.
To imply to yourself or to another that their best efforts have not been good enough- to label someone failure, is to risk scarring another soul for life.

In my life, with my children, there have been times, occasions when attempts at new projects, directions etc have been less than successful.

Is less than successful failure ?
No, no its not.

I ask you to think very carefully before you use the word failure with yourself, your kids or anyone else. Nothing is truly a failure when you look it the big picture. Everything teaches us something, no matter how small and seemingly insignificant. In terms of life lessons and soul progression, it is impossible to have anything other than success because everything will teach you something, even if that something is that you should have done it the other way.

To 'fail' means that there is no longer hope, and in this world, hope is the one thing we are always sure of having.

Many of my friends comment on my children and the apparent ease with which they live their lives. I have been told on many occasions that my children are blessed and in a lot of ways i agree however, they are also two kids who have bought up knowing that their best IS good enough and that if something doesn't work out just the way you wanted it too, it just meant that for now, that something, wasn't meant to happen.

How could anyone brand a child a failure? To do so , is truly child abuse. To brand yourself a failure is soul abuse, beside being very sad.

We have been gifted with free will and with free will, we will always have choice. Choice is part of the gift.
With choice you will always have options but contrary to popular thought, these options are not 'the right way' and 'the wrong way'- they are merely 'one way' or 'another way'.

You can never FAIL by trying- anything you try, you will never fail.
Never.
It may not work out perfect, but it will teach you something for sure.

As humans, we all have our triggers.............that is, we all have those things that make us react rather than act.

I know i do- i can not stand to see an adult yell abuse at a child, i do not use the word failure , i hate seeing spirituality being used as a tool for cruel people:- when someone tells you that 'your energy' is not right for them or their group, they are no better than a school yard bully, in many cases they are worse, because instead of coming out and just saying 'i don't like you' they turn it around and make it your fault that they find you unacceptable..........

One of Joshua's teachers told me once that he was so confident, so sure of himself and his actions, that he stood out amongst other kids his age. I remember telling her that it was because he knew, that basically, he could do no wrong- and i don't mean that to sound egotistical, merely just fact, he, like his sister knew, that no matter what they did, one way or another they would learn something from it.

That was something that was missing with a lot of the kids the same age as my kids- self confidence bought about by fear of failure.

If you take away the failure, a child has nothing to fear.

Words have such power, such longevity.

Please use them wisely.

Marin Tidal Hot Springs: Happening, but Going Fast!

For those who have heard of the Marine County Tidal Hot Springs, but have never been: Yes they are real. I just went this morning and they're in fantastic shape! Unfortunately they will become rarer soon, so if you may want to visit them soon (like the next few days).

The springs are most easily reached by 'goat' trail near Steep Ravine Environmental Campground, located about 1/4 mi. south of Red Rock Beach, which is about 2.5 mi. south of Stinson Beach. Most of the time (i.e. >99%) the springs are covered by the Pacific Ocean, and they only happen during extreme low tides (i.e. when the tides are less than '0' foot mean-tide). These extreme low tides occur only during certain days (normally around New Moon and Full Moon). Summer and Winter have more extreme tides than Fall and Spring, and the Winter Storms often swamp the springs with high waves, no matter how low the tides get. Therefore Summer is the best Soaking Season.

Sadly, the 2007 Summer Soaking Season is almost over, and opportunities are getting rarer.

The good news is that we're in the middle of one of the last extreme-tide 'cycles' of the season. So the next Hot Springs will occur very early tomorrow (Sunday) morning, starting at ~4:15 AM (when the tide falls to '0' feet). The tide will then continue to fall to 0.9 ft. at 5:56 AM, and the springs will keep getting hotter. It will remain hot until the rising tide brings the waves, which will probably occur shortly before 9:00 AM (when the tide rises to almost 1 ft. above '0' mean tide).

The next day (Monday) everything will occur about 50 minutes later. The next day the it wil happen again, but not as much. By the end of the week the 'cycle' will be over. There are a few low tides in August, though they won't be as deep as tomorrow or Monday.

If this interests you feel free t reply and I'll send directions. Realistically, it's probably not a good idea for you to try to hike down the (very steep) trail to the springs in the pre-dawn dark unless you're hiking with someone experienced. Once you've been shown the way, there's no problem. Nevertheless, it's best to follow someone else the first time. Also: Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and/or socks (there's poison oak on the path -- no need to spoil you experience by getting stung :-)

We'll be going tomorrow (Sunday) morning, so if any of you want to ride with us or caravan in your own vehicle, just email and we can make arrangements.

Its late and i am awake.
Wide awake and scouring the net in between games of spider solitaire that I just cant seem to win to night.
Tomorrow is huge and as is often the case for me, my concern about tomorrow has rendered me sleepless tonight.
And so I sit
and think about stuff, that probably wouldn't be on my mind if my mind wasn't so over tired and adrenalised that it is searching for stuff to mull over.
I've read some blogs but tonight, the sadness contained in many of them is too much for me and i find myself asking 'why?'- why are so many so unhappy ?
I don't have answers
All i have is faith and for me, faith is enough. Many though don't find faith as easy as I do, and so, i see , that their paths are filled with hardship, pain and misery. From the outside, it is so simple to see, but from the inner depths of anguish, I remember too being unable to see clearly the light ahead.

People ask me about my health, about my speech, about my breakdown and I tell them as honestly as i can about how i have perceived the last 8 months of my life.
The most terrifying time of all for me was the questioning of my faith, was the time when unable to grasp a glimmer of light, I wondered, 'is this all in my head? have I made this all up?'
I spent days trawling through my own spiritual writings trying to find a thread to lead me to an answer that would say 'this is real, this is true' and you know what? even now, to this day, I still have not found that thread, more realistically, my need to find the thread vanished as my faith in the Divine was replenished.

A good friend of mine once told me that 'faith is belief without proof' and in the early days of my darkness, his words were very truly the raft that kept the life of Lisa afloat. When all is shattered and fragmented around you and life makes no sense, although you crave proof, tangible,real proof, substance to your life, more often than not, you are not meant to find it or better still, it is meant to find you and at a time and a place when you least expect it.

I thought that I had lost my faith- for a while there in the deepest, darkest moments of my life, I thought that I had lost my faith. What I didn't know then, was that it wasn't the act of having faith that I had lost, it was the act of accepting without proof; needing to have my world, thoughts, beliefs put into something tangible, that i could touch, hold,reassure myself with became my idea of faith- 'if you are there, PROVE it to me' and because it didn't,couldn't, i stumbled, i doubted .

Reading the blogs tonight, I find my own living in the words of so many others. So many searching for something, anything that proves to them that they are valuable, real, true and i wonder, do they know , that faith requires trust and belief, even when the blackest night falls, faith requires belief without proof.

I remember the fear of feeling 'alone' and that is the only way I can describe my time of doubting faith- 'alone'.
To feel that there is nothing , no where, no reason, no purpose , was the most alone feeling I have ever experienced in my life. Even now, my stomach drops at the memory , and I cant imagine how it must be to live every day of your life like that, looking for something that you cant ever find, until you stop looking and just trust.

There was a reason I got so sick, I'm not still particularly clear about it except to know that it had purpose and reason.
There is a reason I am having issues with my speech, alot of it has to do with shutting up and listening but more so there are changes in my life that could never have come about any other way.

I look back now, at the darkness of illness and i see a Universe that pulled out all the necessary stops to make me stop, look and listen.
I don't question the hows, whys, wheres of it all, I merely accept that what is right for me will be.

There is a peace in that.
There is a peace in knowing that all is exactly how it is meant to be.
There is peace in my mind, in my heart and in my soul.

I believe in me and I believe in my faith, the power of my faith.
I cant prove it, i don't want to.
It just is and because of that, I continue to grow, thrive and live.

Faith is the key.
All else will fall into place.

be truth

She tells me, in my mind to 'be'.
I question as is my way, 'be what, how, why?'
She tells me, just 'be'

And so as i think upon this truth, the bud unfurls to release its perfume.
I am holding the rose and it whispers to me' be, be, be the woman you want to be'

..........and so i begin, the path, the walk, I begin to be, and be the woman I want to be.

She tells me , you need not wish or intend, to become the highest vibration of who you are- there is no transition from now to then, there is no change required, no learning to aquire.

Just simply be, who you, your most brilliant self and you will be the woman you want to be.

It seems too easy, in my mind; in my minds eye, I want to challenge this concept, this thought, this idea, the suggestion of just being and allowing that to be enough.

She smiles, the love of a compassionate mother with a wilful toddler and repeats, 'it is all there child, all you need, all you want, all you ever dreamt you could be, is there, here, now in your every cell, in your portion of earthbound soul- you are her, the woman of the dream, and all it takes is recognition, on your part, that this is so."

Again I question, until I see her hand raised and hear her sigh ' stop.......go into your heart, acknowledge there and then who and what you are, and then be, be the aspect of Me that you are'

The rose in my hand starts to fade, starts to petal away and yet, the perfume of Her words
lingers in my mind, in my soul, in my innermost knowing.

I see in my mind, the Me I want to be, the Me of the dream, the woman I want to be; as it hits, dawns, clarity, inner sight and I smile knowing now I understand, now I know, who I am, who I am truly.

For in truth, the woman of the dream is me, the dream is my life and the Woman I am, is the woman I created, my own created being- the life I lead, is me, mine, I look around and see every aspect of my life, of my living, placed in exactly the position I have placed them in.

I am flooded with strength, with inner knowing, with love and with peace- I laugh out loud for knowing now as i do, that I am the woman I want to be, I cry with realisation of the power that is me, and I know that I am strong, that I am Mother, Wife, Sister, Priestess, Healer, Wise Woman, Witch.

All else is illusion, you can not CHANGE who you are, you can only BE who you are, be who you truly are.

For in being you, you are acccepting your place as an aspect of the Divine, as a daughter of the Goddess, as a child of the light.

Everything else is fear, everything else is man made; your centre, your core, your earth - these are Divine, as you are, as you are.

I call to my Lady, I call and tell Her, I understand, I know now.
I can not change , I can not wish, I cannot intend, to be anything other than what I am, and that what I am, needs no alteration, no adjustment, no fixing.
What I am is perfection, divine and light.
What i have is everything I need.
What I live , how I live this life is my own creation.
I have built my world with my words, my thoughts, my actions and my non-actions.

Created.MY. Reality.Me.

And now I know and
I am learning to just be.
Be.
Me.

expectations

My new guide Stervoh has been busy.

Last night, he spoke with me about expectations and what one person expects from another.

This was part of his lesson on energy exchange, and making sure that what you expect from a person/situation is balanced with what you put into/give to that relationship.

Its an interesting exercise and shows you where there is unbalance, abuse, neglect or even just a very bad habit.

Stervo has suggested I write a 'what do i expect' list and list all the people and places and situations in my life and just what I expect from them.

Then , go back over the list and write honestly, what energy if any you offer these people, situations, places in return.

It makes you think.

Are your own expections realistic ?

Have you outgrown situations?

Do you give alittle and receive alot or vice-versa ?

Into what situations are you pouring valuable energy and getting nothing in return?

Its an interesting exercise and will immediatly show you where energy is being drained or depleted in your life.

Remember, that there must ALWAYS be an energy exchange- in every situation on earth there must always be an energy exchange for it to work and to work in a balanced fashion.

I am working with this today and pin pointing areas in which i give and dont receive or, because this is total honesty time, areas in which i am receiver and I dont give in return.

and where I am going
I dont know that I am going to be able to do what I do for much longer
I cant talk
i am sad

I pride myself on my faith
however, now, even this must challenge me
for in truth
how can anything hurt the person
who has complete and utter faith ?

I am questioning this
turning it around, upside down
inside out
I do have faith
I do

I can see the truth of perfect faith
perfect faith is belief without proof
it is understanding without reason
it is there, right before me
and i want it so much

yet, i doubt and I doubt again
I feel fear and ego
when in perfect faith all is perfect
all is as it should be
fear cannot live, nor doubt nor ego

surrendering is my next lesson
this is what I have been told
the guides
they tell me that now is my time to surrender to them
to the Divine plan
now is the time to push past
the fear
ego
doubt
now is the time to be
just me
and to trust that 'just me' is enough

I am being told to surrender
that my faith, while strong
is not pure
cannot be pure
while I focus on the pain
while I continue to block out the light.

and so
its time
i must give up control or at least the illusion I projected
of being in control
I have been handed over
yet i go willingly
my life is no longer mine
for this cycle
surrender is my lesson.

tonight i am looking at my life
I am 44
i am wise
I am here, I am there
I am growing, growing

The next step is surrender
to the fates
the universe
the will of the divine
to the plan
to the moment
surrender
in faith

One who truly has faith, knows that all has a reason
and knowing this
lessens pain
doubt
ego

defining moments

Can you feel the energy ?

Are you open enough to let the feeling start, let it build and then let it be released back out to the Universe ?

The energies of now are in truth, dense, but in reality, that is only because our own personal energies are so much higher/lighter than before.

My guide tells me that earth energy is still very much as it has always been, the changes that are occurring within our physical body, our cells and crystaline structure are the changes that are now making us so very aware, so very open and perceptive.

Life is different now.

Anyone who is even remotely open is experiencing the changes that our time upon this planet will bring- the Earth and everyone upon Her are gearing up for massive structural change and for most of us, that results in feeling rather like you are a raft at sea in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Yes, we are being tossed about.
Yes, it is a challenge.

But, what are our options ? Do we have options ?

In truth, being here now is our own option- the life we lead is the one we chose for ourselves so as to provide us with the lessons needed to ascend to the next level. We are here now, because this is where we can do the most good and where the most growth opportunities can be presented to us as souls.

I am also constantly reminded that where I am now, today, this minute, is exactly where i have chosen to be- this world of ours is governed by free will and it is with free will that humanity has struggled to create its own reality.

There are moments in our lives that define us for the following cycle- no one moment in your life can define you and your actions for the rest of your incarnation.
You may think it does, or want it too, but in truth, once you learn what is meant to learn, you move on and the previous defining moment loses its hold on you.

We all have these moments- i like to call them 'car park moments'- those moments where you are presented with two opportunities, two different directions and you need to choose which one, will be the one, that will give you the greatest lesson the fastest.
I dont really believe there is a right or wrong choice, just simply that there is choice and one way is quicker.

In my 44 years of life I have had 3 car park moments, 3 defining choices that I have needed to make.
The first time,I was seven, the second time I was in my early 20's, the third time was 2 years ago, when i was 42.

Ofcourse i have had many moments and descions in life- many wonderful life experiences- but in truth, only the three mentioned, have been what i know to be 'defining'- like with all your guides, sitting in a room watching you and thinking ' oh dash, she chose the wrong one!!'

The first time i chose the long way, the second time I took the easy path, the third, again, the long way.

And yet, I wonder, here I am.

My guides tell me that even if I had chosen differently, today, this minute, I would still be sitting here doing what I love doing.

It comes down to responsibility to self. Everything you do, say, think or feel is going to impact your world in one way or another- no other person in the world can do that to you.

You are the only one who can hurt you and you are the only one who can help you too.

When you look at it like that it can either make you or break you, and that too would be your own choice as well.

Choice.

Defining Moments.

Can you recall defining moments in your life ?
Moments when faced with the crossroads of life you have had to make a choice.
Does that choice still affect you now ?

Moments will define us for a cycle, not a life time. While we have free will, there will always be crossroads. What you do at lifes crossroads is up to you and will set the stage for the next aspect of your life- this may be 5 minutes, 5 months or 5 years, but it wont be forever- growth will not allow it to be.

I have to look at me and think 'what is defining me?'
Then I have to ask "why is that defining me?'

Next I have to ask 'do I have to be defined by an incident or action or sentence or whatever that happened 15 /20/40 years ago?"
Then I have the answer- to release and move on or to stay rooted in the past.

Thats another defining moment, and once again, the ball is in your court.

You can escape a lot of stuff, but not the truth, and the truth is, that we are responsible for our own life, our own growth.

Choice, stay or go, live or die, move forward/stand still.

What will it be ?

the gift of today

Today is full of potential and new opportunities.

It is a day I have dreamt about, when there is so much on offer in this world of ours, that i am spoilt for choice about which direction to take.

Today is special and the energy of today is inviting and warm ' come with me, leave behind doubt, dance ,sing, come with me '

Today is a chance, a new beginning, a fresh start, it is the day after Judgement, the day of birth, rebirth and of waking after a thousand year sleep.

Today is the Fool card, the beginning of a journey, the start. It is packing bags and making plans.

Today is a day of miracles and warm sunshine, of knowing that I am never alone and of feeling love for all around me- today i can feel the Goddess in my cells, I can hear her in my laughter, I can see her in the eyes of those around me.

She calls to me and today, Her voice is clear and pure- I am her destiny, in Me she has placed Her very Being, Her survival.

Today I am strong, and i can carry the weight of my own creations. Today the loads of this world are feathers in my hands.

Today is craft paper, and i can make from it anything I will; It is an unwalked path through a land of possibility, it is the result of my prayers and spellcraft, it is the manifestation of all my intentions, it is my day to shine, and shine I will.

Today is an envelope at the Academy Awards, and the winner is ............ME!

Today is about me, about moving forward, about letting go of the past.

Its about looking truthfully at where i am in life and accepting that I am exactly where i need to be- more than this, its about looking around me, at all i have and all I do and knowing, that good or bad, I am the one who got me to this place.

Today is unique and will never come again.
It moulds me, it moulds tomorrow, it provides a base, a starting point.

Today is result, total, the sum of.

Today is here , presenting in the shape and form that it is, because of the time, effort and thought I have put into my yesterdays.

It is what i have made it, me alone.

Today is Monday but it could be any other day.
It is white, calm and I am blessed.

Today i am loved and i love, today i live in gratitude and awe.

Today i remember, acknowledge and feel humbled by the knowledge that I am the creator of all my days and that here , now, is exactly where I have placed me.

Today.
Share your life, your love, your dreams and power with someone else.

Live in the moment.
Now.
Today.

the myth of union

have been thinking alot about relationships and about our expectations of others & in return, their expectations of us.

I wonder how true it is that everyone has another person in this world who is the perfect twin flame or soul mate for them.

The more I ponder it, the more I don't see it as likely.

Surely we are born complete?

Surely our 'other half' is within us- maybe dormant or unawakened, but within us all the same.

Is it just some idealised romantic fantasy that we have 'another half' of ourselves out there somewhere that we must constantly search out and look for?

I think so.

Personally, I think we are born whole- body & soul.
I think we are born with what we require to get us through this life time and to acquire the knowledge we need to allow us to grow.
I don't really think we are 'half a person or soul' or 'incomplete'- we may be unawakened but not missing 'another person' to make us whole.

We are, as individuals, each, whole, complete & perfect- the only thing often missing here is the realisation of that. Self realisation.

This world of ours is structured around the 'power of one'.

Each of us is individual and unique and no- one of us is born into this world needing or requiring another soul on this planet to make us capable of achieving divinity, peace and perfection.

Everything we need is within us- our journey, our path; is not about interaction with others, it is about our interaction with ourselves and the God/Goddess energy that is within us all.

If you feel less than worthy, no one else can give you self esteem and self value.
If you feel guilt or shame, no one else can give you forgiveness
If you feel unloved, no one else can give you the love you require - they may try, but you will always be feeling unloved and undervalued until you learn to love & value yourself.

I think that sex/gender is an unfair separator, because with in us all, we are both male & female, and both together make one- the complete unit.

In a lot of ways, this is confronting because so many of us are bought up believing that answers and solutions in life are external, and come in the form of friendships, partnerships, associations, etc.

We are taught to 'seek' awareness, enlightenment, answers,from books, churches, wise people when in truth, all we need is already with us.
We are told that unless we find our 'soul mate' or 'twin flame' we can never experience the truest love or completion of ourselves.

I just don't believe that anymore.
It scares me a bit to think I ever did.

I think this idea of gaining perfection through another is nice but just not feasible nor realistic.

It puts a huge amount of pressure on us to come up with the right partner and a huge amount of pressure on our partner, with us , expecting in our mind and heart, for this partner to complete us and make us whole. To be our answer.

It also gives us a cop out when things go wrong and an opportunity to shed our responsibility by blaming another.

Rather than another person doing making us whole, i feel maybe it is the act of loving that provides the key.

Perfect love doesn't have to be 'partnership love'- love of children, animals, life, self, all come into this as well. There are many ways to experience true love but none of them come from without- all are within you, within your souls.

The old saying about 'you come into this world alone and you leave alone' is true.
Our journeys, though intertwined are individual and each of us has a path separate to every other to tread.
Love is not an emotion, it is a state of being that we are all born into.
We may hide it along the way or lose sight of it, but it is always there waiting to recognised and activated within us.

I am so blessed to have Marc as a partner and his support & love of me is a huge aspect of my life, but he doesn't complete me any more than I complete him. How selfish i would be to want him to think I did?
We are individual choosing to love & be together in this life time.
He would not have died if he hadn't met me nor vice versa- he would have just lived life on a different path, in a different way.

Does any of this make sense ?
Maybe, maybe not.........to me now it does because i don't want to think I am dependant on someone/something else to make my life journey a success, to make me complete. I need to know, acknowledge that this is my path, my journey and I have been sent in with all the tools required to make it work.

There is always interaction with others but truthfully, i believe, the buck stops here, with me.
I am everything I need to be to find peace.

You are too.

I am a brussel sprout who knows that your love of me is a blessing but my love of me is a necessity.

Greedy red alarm clock
swoops into my fantasies,

Anguish bubbles up
from a place long forgotten,
primal fury at a finger's length.
Did i blink?
Or did the whole world fade to black?
Drops of blood,
thick with endless injustice,

Which way to the moon hut?
The flow of life disrupted.
Blood rage stabs through my rib cage,

whispering

The Goddess is whispering and she is whispering wisdom to all who seek to hear.

The Goddess speaks with love of all- She does not bemoan the state of her Earth, she does not avenge damages done- she whispers to us, only, to try harder, to do more, to nurture the gift we have been given.

Where is this Goddess of which I speak ? and I tell you, in truth, where is She not?
Who is She ? Is she real ? and i tell you, She is you, She is me, She is us and as real as we can be which is more real than what we are.

Within the mind of us comes the cry- within the soul of us comes the yearning- the rememberance that we , as woman, are stronger than this- we as women, carry life within our hands- She is whispering to me and she says- do you dare ? Do you dare to be the woman you are ? Do you dare to take your power ?

Know now, dear Sisters that the time of the Daughter arrives- the time of the growing of all possibility and the return of the Great Mother moves forward.
There is no anger, no pain, these are not the tools with which She works- there is no destruction or punishment for the crimes of this world, She would not know how to weild these.

Her 'tools' are us- her daughters, the women upon this earth to whom She gives Her almighty power, to whom She bestows the love of life and the regeneration of all.

Do you hear Her whisper? In Her soft, muted, cries do you hear Her calling you? " This is your time now, our time............ come, come......................

As women, as woman, you are , I am, we are the tools of the Great Mother- we are Her change, we are Her work, we are Her hope for an Earth filled with love and abundance.

I feel like writing yet I dont really know about what.

I am trying hard to stay awake, to break the habit of sleeping during the day. Today is day 3 and I am doing fine.........I made up my mind and I am going with it.

Today feels good, the energies of today feel good and so far I kept myself busy and productive.

Yesterday, which is gone and wont come back , was a tad dark and most of the family picked up that I was in another place and time all day.

Today is good and tomorrow will be better. I am aiming for this, am manifesting my own reality.

Like our healing room at the Cottage- the power of women, of sisters, of us- the power to manifest and to create what we want in our lives- its amazing and its real, tangible.

Manifest.
Create.

The Law of Attraction.

Simple.
Profound.
Successful.

I have come so far since the poor shattered wreck of me who faced the new year back in January. I am healing and healing more each day. The world feels white and grey but the blackness is gone. I am hearing my angels although they are standing at a distance. I am getting ready to work again and restarting my readings and classes. I am living again and it feels so good.

The Moon calls me and I respond. My gut responds to a call that is primal and familiar in all women- the call of the Goddess, the pull of the tides, the tears of our sisters who suffered in the past for believing what we now believe and know to be true.

The Goddess calls and all about me the answers can be heard- She calls and I answer with love in my heart and perfect faith and perfect trust.

The message I hear now is to 'move away from the known, outstretch your arms to touch the unknown, then delve into its mystery and to realise that in truth, you and the mysteries are one and one is all and that all is now as it should be'

We are changing, growing, moving, creating and manifesting and it is happening with pace and speed. Many of us struggle to keep up with the flow, we find the change terrifying and real and too seperate to the realities we thought we knew as true.

I am 44. A Woman, A Witch.
My growth in this life ends with my death in this life, my immortal growth knows no end and no beginning, it just is, i simply am, and will continue to be regardless of the form and structure of my physical body.

A rose by any other name would still smell as sweet, as is so with the soul that is me, that is you.

We are being challenged now, this much is true.
Lives here upon the earth plane are for many precariously balanced- the spirit whispers of the Divine are there but faded, limiting the amount of 'outside' interference we allow into our life, into our lives. We are on our own during this short path, we are being asked to navigate solo for a while and so they stand back.
It feels hard but in truth, what we have here, before us all, now, is choice.
We are being told to choose the next part, we are being told to choose and to choose well. Yes, we are guided, loved yet we are not being carried at this time- this part of our growth requires US to make the decisions for our future life, for us to grow our own way.

As with all choice, there is no wrong, no right, merely the easy way and the hard way. What ever you choose will supply you with the lessons you require, but some paths are straight, others are twisted and turned.

Acknowledge the beat in your heart, the pull of your solar plexus, the gut knowledge that you are the sum of many and that you too are Divine.

Know this- the Goddess calls and stirs the sleeping into action- She calls her daughters, as is Her due.

Do you hear Her ?
Do you feel that we are approching a time of Truth ?

Seeking the goddess

I went to the flea market seeking a small goddess to use in meditation. In the first hour I found a beautiful little mirror exquisitely framed in shells. I had limited funds, so continued on my quest for the goddess. In the third hour I came across another, somewhat larger mirror framed in walnut. Beautiful, but not what I was seeking. I ventured on, but not even a single goddess beaconed to me.
After 5 hours, in the last aisle I found her . Intricately carved and painted in gold leaf, probably 8 feet tall by 4 feet wide,. And when I stood I stood in front of this magnificent mirror there she was. I had forgotten that I am the goddess!

Communing with the divine feminine

I just had one of the most amazing transformative weekends of my life. My partner and I felt a draw to leave the city on Saturday morning, we didn't know where we were going, well we usually don't because we try to just flow with the magic of the moment. We ended up renting a car and packing up a bunch of stuff and heading to the coast. We spent the day exploring and walking on the beach and smelling flowers and connecting and being present. That night we ended up renting a room on the Oregon coast right on the beach with the waves crashing outside our door.

I didn't have any inclination on a conscious level of the experience I was about to go through that night. Quite a few factors ended up coming together to create a transformative experience for me (and my partner). There were several powerful forces present that night all of which represented the divine feminine or the energy of the Goddess to me. We were at the ocean, it was a full moon and I was with my partner (who is a woman and was in her time of the month). Additionally we brought some mushrooms with us and decided to open ourselves to the natural energy of that plant teacher as well. When we took the mushrooms my partner went into a blissful state and immediately seemed to embody the Goddess. I on the other hand was immediately agitated and overwhelmed by the energy present and trying very hard to resist it. I felt disconnected from my partner and in a different world which was initially alarming because I envisioned us connecting in a blissful way for the evening so I had a bit of an agenda. I felt all this feminine energy flowing into me and it was terrifying at first because I was unable to resist or control it. I finally had to leave the room and my blissful partner who tried to help me but realized she couldn't do so by doing anything except holding space. In that moment she seemed like an enlightened being and I was blown away by that.

I ran outside and down to the ocean under the full moon in the middle of the night and felt like I was loosing my mind. I fought with the great mother running up and down the beach and cursing the waves until I wore myself out and collapsed. Then I took off my clothes and entered the freezing ocean which felt shockingly purifying. This experience broke me down enough to be able to go back up to the room and let go. I collapsed on the floor and was able to reconnect with my partner. As we lay on the floor together in front of a fire without speaking she placed her forehead against mine and channeled the divine feminine which completely infused my being. All my resistances and defenses were completely broken down and I felt unable to move. I began to cry as I surrendered to this nurturing energy of love and acceptance. We hardly spoke the whole night as we were in a place beyond words. Later we made love and it felt as if I was communing with the divine, no words can do this justice.

The next morning I felt like a new person in a way and realized I would not be the same after this experience. I feel more open to the great mother and the earth and feel my intimate connection to the divine in this way. My partner shared some of her experience which in many ways echoed mine but most of it lay beyond words and we share a deep knowing around that. We stayed on the coast for another night integrating the experience and sleeping in the natural energy of the woods.

praises for the goddess within

I had a recent close encounter with a woman who has the power of self-acceptance. She can say, “I am so honoured to have such wonderful gifts to offer,” and she means it. That blew my mind wide open. I judged her at first from my own grudging grip on so-called modesty, so trained to await praise from others that I didn’t allow myself to deserve. I was in a trap of need, psychically pulling on ‘them, whoever they are’ to give me what I could not allow myself to have, a feeling of worth.

The women I most love and admire stand up and rock in their own power, say Yes to themselves, are willing to be seen, heard and absurd. Yet those are the qualities that in me are seldom allowed the time of day except when they slip out sideways at those times my guard dog is seduced by substances into a sort of slumber. Afterward, I remember with shame the ways I praise my own self so slyly and shyly, say without admitting that I am saying it, “Hey, I’m pretty good, don’t you think?”

The ‘don’t you think?’ part feels to the other like being pulled on, sucked on, grabbed at, and who could enjoy that? Praise must come from inside, undemanded, commanded only by a natural upwelling of appreciative responsive life-energy that spontaneously speaks, “Hey, you rock, you’re amazing, I admire you.”

I must shamedly admit that I have been told such in the past by various beloveds and strangers and that I could not allow their praise to take root in the soil of my being or help me become more confident in the value of my own existence. I was trained young to doubt my right to be, and since then I’ve colluded with the forces of my own eradication, turning the oppressor inward and calling myself a victim. My internal bias is still skewed far from acting on the significance of the injunction to ‘love your neighbour as yourself’. To my mind, this can only mean that love of self is the place true love starts.

I’m not so hard to love, really. I’m sweet and chewy inside, with just the right blend of spice with nice. If I were outside of me, I’d like what I saw. I’d be my friend. So what’s the problem in here? Even now, somebody in my shadow is sneering at the self-obsessive slant of this posting, like don’t I have anything better than my own innards to focus on for heaven’s sake?

And I must say, give me a break, you critic voice within, it’s you I’m struggling to escape. I’ll self-obsess for as long as it takes, because you are the problem, not the solution. Once I get free of the sneering contempt aimed my way from within where it does not belong, I’ll free my song and spread my wings, finally getting to give to the world my gifts; and that will be because I do so love the world, not because I’m obsessed by how great my gifts are.

Somebody once told me that if I didn’t give my gifts to the world, it would be the same as taking them away. That’s a bit of a guilty twist, but the bottom line is, hey, perhaps the world needs my piece of the puzzle. Why shouldn’t it? What kind of a universe would it be if I somehow turned out to be the only puzzle piece that had no place in the solution? Now THAT’s self-aggrandisement, to suggest myself as some sort of unique exception to the law of the universe which states that everything has a part to play and a role to fill.

Everything belongs in its own right center, in its own world. I am the Queen of my Inniverse, and this is as it should be. I’ll leave the Universe alone except for what it is my right and true role to give to it from my heart and truth, and anybody in here who implies that I am not right to be beautiful and blessed in my own sight is going to have to go find some other self to shame.

Dear I am the goddess tribe (including men)

Lots of people do different things in their lives on this tribe. I am sure that it would be so interesting to find out what our creativity is up to on the day to day plane of existence. For some years now, my life is all about women ~ our power, our juiciness, our dreams, our leadership, our creativity, our circles, our visions. In fact in some ways you could say that for me women and our ability to come forward with all of this is my hope for the earth. It is true. And I live this. In other ways it is about my belief in the goddess innate in every woman and in every man too. As a shadow worker I also make room for the darkness as one of the most transformative places of all.
So I am not even sure how many years ago now, maybe nine, I went to my first firewalk. Yes, that kind that you walk barefoot over the coals which by the way, I totally loved and was a joyous and wondrous experience. After I left, it was a full moon and I was driving I think to Boston. I had this vision as I often do that if we came together to honor the power, the creativity, the juice, the life, the grief, the anger, the deep knowingness in our bellies and wombs that it would cause radical and cultrual change. This was because I saw way too many of us holding ourselves down there. From hating our bellies, stuffing, or unstuffing bellies, getting diseased , not speaking, singing, dancing, not finding our true ecstasy, I figured that we were holding a lot down there.
Well I started this conference and called the Women's Belly and Womb Conference. I invited women to come dressed in red to honor how we at some time shared the bleeding path together. Women didn't know what the day was for as it was such an uncommon, rare and strange idea at first. Is it for pregancy they wondered? No, I said, "you don't even need to have your womb intact." Is it for body image they wondered? Maybe but it is more than that. Turns out it was a hell of a lot. When you really explore this thing it is so much of our journey as women.
I dedicated it to women that I had loved and who had died of different belly and womb cancers of the colon, ovaries, liver, and uterus. And I asked the question, WHAT ARE WE HIDING DOWN THERE IN OUR BELLIES AND WOMBS THAT WE NEED TO KNOW AND LIVE?
So anyhow, the 8th annual one is happening in Massachusetts on November 18th. It is different than most conferences actually because hey, it is us running it! It is original, creative, and is a brave container for us to transform and be inside of. PWCA women's camp

Do women here know about this camp? It's just wonderful, an international gathering of women every summer in August on Vancouver Island. This summer will be our 13th camp and I can't recommend it more! Women Drumming, singing, moving, storytelling, ritual & ceremony, art (here is the most wonderful art table with all the materials you can imagine--it is addictive!), workshops of all kinds, put on by presenters and campers, canoeing, swimming in a beautiful lake, and quiet time.

This camp has been so healing for me. I had felt longing and desire to connect with women for years but didn't know where to go or how to find that, but then I discovered camp--and I love it so much I'm now a part of the circle of organizers! I can't recommend it highly enough.

This is a very healing book grounded in usable psychology. There is a companion book "Gods in Everyman", Which I also recommend to better understand your significant other (not that it would have saved my relationships, but if I had read it earlier I would have understood the dynamics of the relation ships better.

Finally, it you are women at the mid life or menopausal phase of your life, I highly recommend Crossing to Avalon; On pilgrimage to sacred sites including Chartres, Glastonbury, and Iona, Bolen, a physician, Jungian analyst, and professor of clinical psychiatry, traces their histories and significance.

Birth Control that doesn't change the natural state?

As a person who is cautious of most chemicals, the question of birth control has always been a conundrum for me. I'm not excited about putting hormones into my body that do not occur naturally but am currently using a low dose hormonal birth control because I do not desire to be pregnant. I'd love to hear what you all do, whether it is some form of hormonal bc, timing, or whatever.

My cycle is far from regular. I've also had hormonal imbalance from birth control before, causing PMS like emotional symptoms for more and more of the month until it was more than half.

Reclamation

Having lived in a variety of abodes over the last decade plus all of which have the common theme of being public temples, I have finally come to the point where I am able to pass on this honor to another member of my community. That said the temple will be moving and while I originally believed myself to be moving also, this now appears to be not the case.

To that end, does anyone have any suggestions for reclaiming space in my home? I’ve lived here for about the last seven years. And may well be here for another two.

Explaining my unexplainable women's work, Women in Power

This marks six years now since I began this international women's initiation and from my woman spirit to yours I want to share about this work but it takes me time usually to get into the heart of it. This predator/ prey/ victim/ perpetrator/ power/ disempowered/empowerment work is a language of its own at first so bear with me. In the end we recognize our present work around this. Whether you are drawn here as a path or simply want to know what is happening in the women's world of empowerment work, here is my message to the women who are here.

What is Women in Power? This is a fierce women's container that is both safe and challenging. Most of us have internal voices that can be critical, judgmental and even annihilating that we battle with on the inside. And in the hardest situations occur when this energy can sometimes by accident leak to the outside of us hurting our loved ones and ourselves. Or we are on the look out for where these dark energies may want to hurt us from our past experiences and waste our valuable energy in a kind of vigilance to keep ourselves externally safe not realizing that it comes from an internal predator scaring us inside as we look for it mirrored on the outside. Many of us are just plain scared in a world that is filled with war and violence of our anger and anyone else's. And yet, it is all around us and within us. What are we going to do in the place where we can have more of our power as women in the world and find some gold in our dark places? This is has been one of my life contributions to face our dilemma straight on. It is true descension work but when we come out of it, we are more whole than ever. Whoever thought to look for our goodness in the darkest of all places?

Women in Power is a safe a ritual container where we as women are able to explore and heal some of our darkest shadows. It is where women work on that strange shaming place we sometimes have going even in our best selves where we feel shamed because we judge ourselves as bad, so we act really good and believe still that we are bad. ? How do we rewire here? Sometimes it comes by grace and sometimes we need a place to work with it among the amazing company of other women. But not in the way we've been doing it. It's okay to be the bitch here you always thought you were, on purpose now during the initiation. But imagine too that it is also a place where you are safe. Curious huh? And it is a place where the darkest shadows, the most violent rage, the deepest grief and the most brilliant and authentic joy surfaces. ??? I am not kidding. I've got to be one of the luckiest women in the world to see the miracles that happen here for women. It is brave and courageous work ~ it is gut work, it is real. It is a place that we don't need to apologize for our power and is held with the integrity that in your core you are good once you don't need to fight so hard the knowing of just how bad you could be if you finally revealed the worst of it. If this is confusing to you, it is no wonder because shadow is the place where we have disowned something that we do not want or choose to recognize in ourselves. Then it becomes projected onto others because we fear it in ourselves. Women in Power is about coming home to it all and owning the worst of ourselves to finally get to the best of ourselves.

The work is facilitated by six skilled Shadow Work facilitators and as many as twenty women on staff for 27 participants. It happens only three times a year but women from all over the world have participated. I am an original co-founder of Women in Power so you can look at my website and my profile as I am over twenty years in now with women's empowerment, ritual and community based work.

The work is true liberation work in the most glorious ways. It comes from the premise that at some time in our life we make a vow never to be like the one that hurt you. Smart thinking. But in doing so, we are sometimes left with some interesting backlash that resembles with our power throwing the baby out with the bath water. We can be left with the only archetypal energy that we see as good, kind, giving, and that is what we name here is as prey energy because it often lacks an energy that can confront, stand up to, and be powerful in the face of large energies. Instead it can be sacrificial of one's gift for the benefit of all. Or sometimes we make a vow not to be like the one we judge is weaker (prey) and then we end up in a place where we are missing our more vulnerable aspects of self too although we are able to be strong and guarded warrioresses.
In Women in Power, we tease apart what we judge as healthy and unhealthy aspects of archetypal predator/prey circuitry that interrupts our fuller choices of what is possible at any given moment when we face life situations in order to give you your innate power to be both powerful and vulnerable again. This includes what we are doing with our sexual energies as well. Any place actually that you are not freely able to express or be the powerful woman that you were born to be are given the opportunity of 360 degree choice again about what you want to do and who you are.
But first we need to revisit sometimes our past to find out about that original vow that we made when we lost something of our power. We’ve done the inner child work and maybe laid some boundaries down as warrior to our perpetrator(s) but hardly ever have we journeyed to the place where we OWN the inner perpetrator, inner predator that stalks us on the inside even with our vow not to be like that. Here is where we see women re-establish safety from internally and come to a place where she can revel in her power in all ways as she chooses allowing her innate goodness and not her fear that she is really “bad” to the bone be what leads her life. This lurking fear often is the driving force for us to be good. Let's redefine good and be "good" at being our authentic selves where we are also powerful, giving, courageous, strong, brilliant and bold. Huh? Are we ready for that?

L'esbat was launched earlier this month at J'adore's in Darlinghurst amid an atmosphere that could only be described at 'wicked'. Many of you were there and helped to make it a brilliant night - thank you and I hope you'll join us again.

Next Tuesday, 3 October we have a very special speaker for the night - Carole Chapman.

Carole is well known in the Witchcraft community of Sydney. English born witch with many years experience, she is an Alexandrian Wiccan High Priestess. A good friend of Nuit's Veil Coven, Carole has a wealth of stories from a lifetime of experience in the Craft to share and inspire.

Our first L'Esbat meet-up had an enthusiastic turn-out with around thirty witches, druids and other pagans there to enjoy the convivial atmosphere. We are rich in company and spirit and we aim to maintain the momentum.

The evening has a bit of structure with our guest Speaker offering an informal and candid chat about their experience of the Craft. That's at a little after 8pm, and then its over to catching-up, mixing, gossip and philosophy. Its an opportunity for you too to discuss what interests you and ask questions. Come share rich experiences and rich lives.

L'esbat meet-ups are designed to provide introductions so everyone feels they can mix and talk to anyone who's there.
You'll be greeted and welcomed into our soiree by coven members Clare, Raven, Julia and Ingred. Michael helps with cauldron blessings!! Our very capable MC for the night is Tori, who steers the evening on silk and will introduce our special guest Carole Chapman.

I've been being visited by the goddess in a BIG way for about 3 or 4 years now. I'm a truckdriver and was living a truly miserable life. I had to start driving over the road becuase my family got in desperate financial straits and it was the only way we could survive. So there I was, miserable and lonely and scared ... and this amazing thing happened. As I travelled (scared as hell,hardly ever travelled before) I found myself, in my loneliness, feeling ... something in the land around me reaching out to me. Hearing a kind of sacred feeling voice inside myself ... It just kept getting stronger and stronger, and after several years I'd find myself driving along with tears streaming down my face, looking out at the land and feeling this amazing... grace flowing through me. I started thinknig that maybe I was going crazy. I would feel some amazing power of love and grace reaching out to me, promising me .... something. Something amazing. Something j-u-s-t around the next corner ... But I couldn't ever reach it, or figure out what. And then, somehow, I stumbled onto something about Wicca and magic and slowly I've begun to learn. And the promise is flowing into my life. Honestly, I don't even know how to express it. You know that feeling you get when you get up really early, before it's light out, and then watch the sky light up and the colors begin to wash across it as the sun comes up? You know, those days when the sky is spectacular and you could just die from joy right then and there? That's what it is... I've been through agony to get here (blog) and will go thorugh more, I'm sure. But an amazing turning point has occurred - the goddess has finally led me to the point that yesterday I sent off a letter ending, after 45 years, the abuse that was the center of my life and my silence about it. It's hard for me to believe it's real, but I posted it on my blog, and every single time I see it, and every single comment I see about it, my belief grows. The relief I feel is utterly inexpressable. thank you thank you thank you goddess. I am going to dedicate that energy now to connecting with the goddess instead of people who's goal is to keep me as athier scapegoat. And I am going to do what the goddess has been leading me to for years now - I'm going to become a healer. it's scary, but I pray only for the courage and honesty to do it. I am going to throw my fear to the winds and just trust in the goddess. .. pray for me, please...
